Hey all!
Sorry I haven’t made a blog post in a couple of weeks or posted anything on tumblr, I’ve been a bit busy recently and just haven’t had the time to write anything. I haven’t had much inspiration for blog posts either as nothing really has happened, but now I do!
Last weekend Alice and myself went with another couple of friends to see Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them… and it was AMAZING. I’m not even just saying that because of how big a fan I am of the Harry Potter franchise I am, it was genuinely one of the best films I’ve ever seen. To start of with, the special effects were amazing. Alice could tell you the cost it was to make it as for some reason she has that umber in her head, but it was an awful lot of money and it certainly pays off. Now I’m trying very hard not to give away spoilers for all those people who haven’t been lucky enough to see it yet so all I’m going to say is that everything looks very real…
I also LOVE the storyline and the characters and everything. And all of the fantastic beasts in it too (if that was a spoiler you obviously haven’t heard the title of the film xD), I love them all so much. The only thing I’d have one slight quibble with is… in fact, it’s a major spoilers, so I’ll put it under a read more tag at the bottom so if you’ve seen the film then you can read that, but if you haven’t then you don’t get a spoiler.
Also I love that it ties in with Dumbledore and Grindelwald! No spoilers there as that’s part of the information that was released by JK Rowling and has been plastered all over the internet, so if you’re a Harry Potter fan or you’re looking at this website I daresay you’ve hear that before.
Anyway, now I’ve got all the Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them stuff down, time to talk about a couple of other things. Firstly, I apologise for not writing a blog post, or anything in fact, in weeks. I’ve been fairly busy with schoolwork and the like and when I have found time, I’ve just not felt like it. It’s a weak excuse, I know, but it’s my excuse all the same.
That leads me on to the next thing I want to talk about… the November Writing Challenge I’m supposed to be doing on tumblr. As I write this sentence it’s the 29th of November, and it’s quite late at night, and I have school tomorrow. Basically, I’m not going to get it done. Since making the tumblr account for Write-a-Week I’ve done 2 writing challenges, both of which I have failed, and I’m sorry. For this reason I’ve decided not to do a December Writing Challenge, and hopefully I’ll get my creative vibes flowing and by the time January rolls around I’ll be able to write loads again and do another challenge. My excuse for not completing this challenge? The same as my excuse for not blogging in a while. Even when I’ve found time to write, I’ve just not felt it. There was a time when I cold sit down and write thousands of words in a day, just spurt them out onto the page like that and bam, I had myself a story. But recently I’ve been trying to cut down on the amount of time that I’m spending on electrical devices and just the internet in general, as I am spending way too much time on them. So I’ve stopped writing hundreds of words a minute and just rolling out the writing, which means I haven’t completed the challenges. Sorry!
That turned kind of sad so let’s make it happy again, eh? So… Christmas! I don’t know if everyone reading this celebrates Christmas but I do, so I’m going to talk about it. Especially as this year I’m really excited! I’m not usually that excited about Christmas, year I’m already hyped up and it’s only November. It’s probably because I have a bunch of friends around me who are really excited for Christmas and they’ve passed it on to me xD Now what I’m about to say is going to sound as though I’m trying to justify that I’m a good and selfless person, and I’m not trying to do that, and I’m also willing to admit that I’m not a good and selfless person, but one of the things I’m most excited for is giving the presents I’ve bought this year. Now I can’t give too many details away as Alice may read this and then it won’t be a secret any more, so I’m not going to say what I’ve got people, but I’m excited…
Another thing I’m happy/excited about: hot chocolate! Oh my gosh I love hot chocolate so much. I’ve been drinking quite a lot of hot chocolate recently. It’s getting to that time of year where drinking hot chocolate is just right, if you get what I mean? It’s the hot chocolate time of year.
Also, a little thing I’d like to say, is that I’ve decided I’m not going to say to myself that I need to write something every week. I know this website it called write-a-week and it kind of implies that were going to write something every week, and we have said that we’re going to do exactly that, but putting constraints on me and saying that I have to write something stops me from doing that and sometimes I’m just not in the mood so… yeah. That’s what I’m going to do. Writing in any form is not guaranteed to come every week, it may do, it may not, who knows. Not me.
Also, I’m going to try and finish my Girl On The Train review thing soon as that’s been waiting in the drafts section, half written, for ageeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssss.
And I think I’ve run out of things to talk about now? Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them was the main reason why I wrote this blog, but then I’ve rambled on about other stuff too… and written over 1000 words! Yay! 1000 words is an accomplishment for me when writing, so I’m happy. So I think I’m going to leave this long and rambling blog post here…
